Who and what is euro eclipse?

A pan-European educational initiative supporting schools in safely observing and learning from the August 2026 solar eclipse.

We coordinate the collective purchase of certified eclipse glasses to ensure safety, reliability, and fair pricing for schools across Europe.

In addition, our team of astrophysicists has developed high-quality teaching materials for students, available free of charge below.

Safety First

Not all eclipse glasses are safe. During previous eclipses counterfeit and uncertified glasses have flooded the market, putting children at risk of permanent eye damage.

We buy only the safest eclipse glasses. CE and ISO 12312-2 certified glasses (created for extended observation of the sun), the same glasses used by NASA and Houston Space center.

Last eclipse was small but the excitment was big

During the last small eclipse in Denmark, the excitement was massive among the kids and teachers.

Despite the clouds, and the eclipse being only partial (only 33% of the Sun was covered).

Here's the local news reporting on the event.

THE FIRST EUROPEAN TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE IN 25 YEARS

For the first time since 1999, Europe will witness a total solar eclipse. Totality can be observed in Spain, Portugal and Iceland.

More than 500 million people will see 80–100% of the Sun covered — a spectacular sight that will dominate headlines, social media, and public attention for weeks.
